Former Energy Drink Company Owner Sentenced to More Than Four Years in Prison

Convicted of Tax Evasion for 2006; Evaded Taxes Due on Over $7.9 Million of Income 
 Russell Pike, 50, of Las Vegas, the former CEO of a Nevada sports energy drink company, Xyience Inc., was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge James C. Mahan to 52 months in prison for his April 2012 conviction for tax evasion, Kathryn Keneally, Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department’s Tax Division and U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada Daniel G. Bogden announced today.

SEC Charges Attorney and Two Other South Florida Residents in $27.5 Million Investment Fraud

Washington, D.C. The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged an attorney and two others living in South Florida for their roles in a $27.5 million investment scheme that led investors to believe they were purchasing securities consisting of “pre-sold” commodities contracts with a pre-determined profit. However, the supposed profits actually distributed to investors were largely taken from other investors’ funds.

HSI seizes stolen statues from New York storage facility Stolen statues worth more than $20 million

NEW YORK — Today, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents seized several sandstone and bronze statues. The statues and other cultural artifacts were seized as part of an HSI Cultural Property, Art and Antiquities Program investigation. The seizure is a direct result of international cooperation and exemplifies the successful use of Interpol resources and the willingness of local partners at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office to pursue these difficult and complex investigations.

ICE and CBP return illegally exported cultural artifacts to Guatemala

WASHINGTON — Eight artifacts that were illegally exported from Guatemala in two separate incidents were officially returned to the country at a repatriation ceremony Friday at the Guatemalan Embassy in Washington. Officials from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) repatriated the eight Maya culture ceramic artifacts, circa 600 to 900 A.D., to Guatemala's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Harold Caballeros.
