Authorities Intercept 41 Undocumented Migrants near Mona Island

Aguadilla, Puerto Rico - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Border Patrol and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) interdicted 41 undocumented immigrants, 38 Haitians nationals and 3 Dominican Republic nationals. The 41 undocumented nationals were intercepted early Saturday morning seven nautical miles northwest of Mona Island, Puerto Rico.

HSI arrests members of a Chinese alien smuggling and drug trafficking organization

 35 defendants charged in the indictment and complaints  Chinese alien smuggling and drug trafficking organizationNEW YORK – More than two dozen members and associates of a Chinese alien smuggling and drug trafficking gang were arrested by special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) during a two day operation. 
The arrests were announced by HSI Special Agent in Charge, James T. Hayes Jr. and U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, Southern District of New York. 
 A federal grand jury handed up a six count indictment charging 27 defendants with various alien smuggling, narcotics, stolen property and related offenses. An additional complaint charges six additional gang members with attempted home invasion robbery, and a third complaint charges two other defendants in connection with drug related offenses.

ICE special agents free 82 hostages from Houston stash house

HOUSTON — Eighty-two individuals, who were allegedly held as hostages, were freed Wednesday from a human smuggling stash house — and an additional four suspected human smugglers were arrested — by special agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and officers from the Houston Police Department (HPD).

Human trafficker Eric Bell sentenced to 30 years in prison

"America's Most Wanted," the television show famously known for helping law enforcement catch some of the country's most hardened criminals, featured Eric Bell on its June 11, 2011 edition.
It is a mother's worst nightmare
. Her child ends up in the hands of a monster – sold for sex and treated like a commodity. That's what happened to four young girls, all between 15 and 17 years old, when they met Eric Bell in 2009 and 2010. 

That nightmare came to an end Tuesday when Bell and his co-conspirator, Neang Prom, were sentenced to 30 years and three years in federal prison, respectively, on sex trafficking charges. The sentencing resulted from a nearly two-year investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the FBI and the Clearwater Human Trafficking Task Force.

Sixteen Defendants Convicted of Federal Hate Crime Charges

 Jury Convicts 16 Defendants on Federal Hate Crime Charges for Religiously Motivated Assaults on Members of Amish Community
WASHINGTON - A jury in Cleveland today convicted 16 people, all residents of Ohio, of federal hate crimes arising out of a series of religiously motivated assaults on practitioners of the Amish religion, the Justice Department announced. The convictions stem from a series of separate hate crime assaults that occurred in four Ohio counties between September and November 2011. In each assault, defendants forcibly removed beard and head hair from practitioners of the Amish faith with whom they had ongoing religious disputes.
