Three Individuals Charged with Federal Firearms Trafficking Offenses

David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that a federal grand jury sitting in New Haven returned an indictment yesterday charging JAWAWN RICARDO HALE, also known as "Nur," 30, of Roanoke, Va., CHARLES MATTHEW WILSON, also known as "Matt," 26, of Roanoke, and LESHEL BRANCH, 31, of New Haven, with firearms offenses stemming from an investigation into firearms trafficking from Virginia to Connecticut.

St. Paul Man Sentenced for Possessing Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, and Two Nine-Millimeter Pistols

 MINNEAPOLIS – Yesterday in federal court, a 35-year-old felon from St. Paul was sentenced to 216 months in prison for possessing cocaine, crack cocaine, and two nine-millimeter pistols. United States District Court Judge Richard H. Kyle sentenced Ronald Louis Trice to 156 months in prison on one count of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and 60 months in prison on one count of using, carrying, and possessing a firearm during and in relation to a drug-trafficking crime. Trice will serve his sentences consecutively. Trice, who was indicted on April 10, 2012, pleaded guilty on May 22, 2012.

Holyoke, Massachusetts Man Arraigned on Melissa Barratt Murder Charges and Sentenced to 200 Months Imprisonment for Crack Cocain

The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Vermont stated today that Chief Judge Christina Reiss in U.S. District Court in Rutland sentenced Frank Caraballo, 30, of Holyoke, Massachusetts, to 200 months of imprisonment and a life term of supervised release for distributing crack cocaine in the Brattleboro area in July 2011.

Albuquerque Gang Member to Serve 40 Years in Prison for Federal Firearms and Drug Trafficking Conviction

Albuquerque – This morning, a federal judge in Santa Fe, N.M., sentenced Dominic Saavedra, 29, of Albuquerque, to a 40-year term of imprisonment for his conviction on firearms and drug trafficking charges. Saavedra, an admitted member of the Southside Locos Gang, will be on supervised release for three years after he completes his prison sentence.

Thirty-Nine Alleged Associates of Two Chicago-Area Drug Trafficking Organizations Facing Federal Narcotics Charges

CHICAGO—Two leaders of separate drug trafficking organizations that operated independently while sometimes supplying each other with multiple kilograms of cocaine were arrested and are among 39 defendants who are facing federal drug charges, federal and local law enforcement officials announced today. The charges contained in a criminal complaint stem from an investigation led jointly by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration that began in July 2011, with assistance from other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

6 Maine men charged in marijuana manufacturing operation

BANGOR, Maine – Six men from Maine and a corporation were indicted Monday on charges they ran an illegal marijuana manufacturing operation. The charges follow a joint investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, with assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Organized crime task force dismantle narcotics operation, $20 million in heroin seized

NEW YORK – Special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and members of the New York Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Strike Force dismantled a heroin distribution operation and arrested a Queens man.
Special agents arrested Jose Santiago Diaz, 44, a Dominican Republic national who worked in the Queens apartment where heroin was repacked for distribution.

HSI, Caribbean Corridor Strike Force seize 918 kilograms of cocaine, arrest 3

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), working jointly with other members of the Caribbean Corridor Strike Force (CCSF), arrested three Dominican Republic nationals for drug trafficking and seized 918 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than $22 million Monday off the southern coast of Puerto Rico.

Third Courier Cocaine Seizure in One Week

Sterling, Va. - For the third time in one week, Customs and Border Protection officers at Washington Dulles International Airport recorded a business courier narcotics seizure when officers discovered nearly six pounds of cocaine Saturday morning that was concealed inside blocked sugar and in soup mix packages.
