Former Bakersfield Police Detective Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison for Methamphetamine Trafficking Conspiracy

 FRESNO, Calif. — Patrick Mara, 36, of Bakersfield, formerly a detective with the Bakersfield Police Department, was sentenced today to five years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release, for a conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, Acting United States Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.

Albuquerque Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Heroin Trafficking Charge

Case Prosecuted as Part of HOPE Initiative which Seeks to Reduce the Number of Opioid-Related Deaths in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE – Shannon Lamont Jackson, 38, of Albuquerque, N.M., pled guilty today to a federal heroin trafficking charge.  Under the terms of his plea agreement, Jackson will be sentenced to 77 months in prison followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court.

FRESNO, Calif. — A federal grand jury returned a two-count indictment Thursday against three men – Jimmy Gil, 34, of Shafter, Jose Luis Montoya-Salazar, 42, of Mexico City, Mexico and Luis Ricardo Eslava-Corral, 42, of Sinaloa, Mexico – charging them with conspiring to import, distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine. Montoya was also charged with re-entering the United States following deportation.

Missouri man sentenced to 20 years in prison for PCP conspiracy

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man was sentenced in federal court Thursday for leading a conspiracy to distribute the illegal hallucinogenic drug known as PCP.

Gerald W. Jones, 42, was sentenced Sept. 4 to 20 years in federal prison without parole. Jones had previously pleaded guilty May 12 to leading a conspiracy to distribute at least one kilogram of PCP. Jones is among 11 defendants who have pleaded guilty to the charges contained in a November 2012 federal indictment.

Mexican national sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for distributing cocaine in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. — A previously deported Mexican national was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in federal prison on cocaine and gun charges, announced John W. Vaudreuil, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin.

Jacksonville Air and Marine Branch Recovers $2.97 Million Worth of Cocaine

Border Patrol Agents Seize Over $1.9M in Marijuana in Laredo

A total of 223 bundles were extracted from the abandoned vehicle, which tested positive for marijuana.

– On September 16, Laredo Freer Station agents assigned to their daily operations seized 2,494.5 pounds of marijuana.

Agents working roving patrol duties discovered two abandoned vehicles at a local ranch. As agents drove closer to the vehicles, the agents conducted a thorough inspection and discovered multiple bundles wrapped in brown packaging concealed under a black blanket. Agents conducted a search of the perimeter; subsequently, arresting two subjects.
